Disgraced ex-US President Donald Trump said he wants Meghan Markle to run for office but said he’s ‘not a fan.’
Trump was speaking on Fox News on Tuesday when he was asked about the Duchess of Sussex possibly meeting with Democrat operatives to consider a foray into politics.
The Republican answered: “Well, I hope that happens because if that happened I think I would have an even stronger feeling towards running.
“I’m not a fan of hers.
“I think that what she talks about the Royal family and the Queen, and I happen to think, I know the Queen as you know, I met with the Queen and I think the Queen is a tremendous person and I am not a fan of Meghan.”
It isn’t the first time the former US President has taken a swipe at Meghan Markle.
In September he slammed Meghan after she and Prince Harry urged Americans to ‘reject hate speech’ and vote in the upcoming presidential elections.
Asked about a video where the couple appeared to endorse his then-rival Joe Biden he said: “I’m not a fan of hers.
“And I would say this, and she has probably heard this, I wish a lot of luck to Harry — because he’s going to need it.”
Trump has been unable to vent as publicly as he once had after his Twitter account was deleted by the social network while he was still in office.
Joe Biden went on to win the Presidential election, which was later marred by deadly scenes at the US Capitol where fanatics attempted to overturn the election result.
Despite an impeachment trial, his second, for allegedly inciting the deadly riot that left five people dead he was acquitted in the Senate in a vote largely along party lines.
