Evil dad who murdered his daughter, 8, in frenzied knife attack dies in prison

The brother of an SAS: Who Dares Wins star who murdered his eight-year-old daughter as she pleaded for her life has been found dead in prison

William Billingham, who is the sibling of Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, was found slumped in a chair in his cell in HMP Birmingham on Friday morning.

It is thought the evil child killer died before staff managed to reach him.

The 58-year-old was given a life sentence in October 2018 for the brutal murder of Mylee who he stabbed to death at his bungalow near Walsall in the West Midlands in January that year.

He used a kitchen knife to kill his daughter, moments after holding the blade to the neck of her mum, Tracey Taundry.

Prosecutors believe he “turned his anger” on Mylee to spite Miss Taundry after she began a same-sex relationship.

Billingham had been moved from a different wing around the middle of 2020.

The move to the wing, which housed elderly and frail inmates, was made after his health apparently deteriorated.

A source told The Sun: “He was found on Sunday morning. He was found in a chair, the officers had opened up and found him.

“It drove people mad, he was living the life of luxury in there.

“He worked on the servery helping give meals out to fellow inmates.”

Jurors at his murder trial were told he had grown resentful of 34-year-old Tracey’s relationship with her new partner Lindsey Andrews and feared she would stop him seeing his children.

Billingham waited for Tracey to collect Mylee from his home, where he armed himself with a kitchen knife.

As the youngster left his house, the dad-of-six pulled his daughter back indoors by her hood as she screamed “Mummy, Mummy” and “Please Daddy, no Daddy, stop it”.

Crazed Billingham then “violently” thrust the blade Mylee’s chest in a “swift, deliberate and brutal” manner as a “final act of revenge” against his ex.

He then knifed himself twice in the stomach and tried to cut his throat.

He refused to tell police what had happened.

Billingham whose hero brother Mark is on Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins was convicted of murder.

During his trial the then unemployed factory worker opted not to give evidence, claiming he had no memory of stabbing Mylee through the chest, and was guilty of the lesser offence of manslaughter due to depression.

He was also convicted of threatening to kill Tracey and sentenced to life with a minimum term of 27 years.

A Prison Service spokeswoman told The Mirror: “HMP Birmingham prisoner William Billingham died in custody on 19th March 2021. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has been informed.”
