A 21-year-old woman with a million-pound lifestyle admits she would dump her boyfriend if he bought her supermarket flowers.
Saffron Drewitt-Barlow grew up in luxury after her parents made millions through their surrogate business.
Her dad’s Tony and Barrie Drewitt-Barlow made history in the late 90s when they became the first gay men in the UK to father children through surrogacy.
Now Saffron has spoken out about how difficult it can be to start a relationship – and what she looks for in a man.
She told The Sun that she swerves dating apps after giving them a go – as she claims that the “majority of people on them are ugly.”
Saffron says she needs a man who is not intimidated – after claiming that she ended a relationship with a man because he was intimidated by her wealth.
Every year, Saffron said she spends around £65,000 at Christmas, buying presents for the whole family, including her four brothers, little sister Valentina and cousins.
And she regularly bought her ex a pair of £430 pair of shoes from his favourite label but it ended up driving a wedge between them.
And she realised they were at breaking point after he bought a pair of Gucci shoes that Saffron hated and he eventually returned.
She said: “I met him on Tinder and we split because he said he couldn’t keep up with the family and our spending.”
Now Saffron is looking for love once again – but admits she has ‘high’ standards and dubbed chocolate an unsuitable gift.
She told the Sun: “If someone I was seeing came home with something from Primark, I’d be thinking it was time to knock it on the head. I would try to be nice but it’d be obvious by my face.
“I think chocolate is a tacky gift, and even flowers, it’s so easy to go and buy a £2 bouquet of flowers from the garage or something. To me that’s tacky.
“Obviously, it’s different if he’s gone out of his way to order a nice bouquet of roses – one that’s about $400. I’d rather a boob job that flowers though, do you know what I mean?”
But the 21-year-old, who lives in Tampa, Florida, says she doesn’t mind splitting the bill – and will happily cover it all to stop any awkwardness.
And insists that it doesn’t matter what job her future parner has, as long as they’re not a scrounger.
Tony and Barrie Drewitt-Barlow called it quits on their relationship in 2019 – after Barrie fell in love with Saffron’s partner Scott Hutchison.
The couple then announced they had a baby girl last September and continue to live under the same roof in Florida, U.S.
