Although they are miles apart, Chloe x Halle—in Los Angeles and London respectively—manage to slay together regardless. The musician sisters—nominated for Best R&B Song award at Sunday’s Grammy Awards show—were decked out in custom black and gold Louis Vuitton dresses, styled by Zerina Akers with help from Lara Newman in London. Halle wore a mini dress accentuated by a matching veil, while Chloe wore a floor-length gown and sheer gloves. To bring it all together? Some very regal hair and makeup.
Chloe’s hair was a head-turning combination of bantu knots, artful baby hairs, and a thick low curly ponytail, courtesy of hairstylist Tinisha Meeks. “I was absolutely obsessed with my hair and makeup! It’s so much fun experimenting with my locs and finding new ways to style them,” Chloe tells Vogue. Speaking of baby hairs, hairstylist Tiffanne Williams had Halle’s peek through from underneath her custom headscarf.
When it came time for makeup, both wore golden hues on their lids. Halle’s winged liner spanned her upper lash line and across her lid for a fresh take on a cat eye, thanks to makeup artist Kat Ali. Meanwhile, Christina Cassell created a fresh complexion and metallic smokey eye for Chloe. “I wanted to create a sultry look to balance the elegance of Chloe’s Vuitton dress,” Cassell says. “I love the makeup trends of the 70s…dewy skin, bold eyes and long lashes.”
